I worked with three separate groups. All of the children
were aged from 12 to 18, with varying levels of sensory impairment and
learning difficulties. With the first group I began by using the theme
of ‘outside and the natural environment’ as a real source
of inspiration i.e.; ‘recall a walk in the forest and the
associated sensations of the sights and sounds’. We used natural
materials and nature sounds to generate ideas. I wanted the group to
work together to develop a large-scale multi media collage, along with
an accompanying sound piece...
